Introducing Dr. Isaac Felemovicius
Dr. Isaac Felemovicius, better known as Dr. Isaac, was born in Evanston, Illinois and raised in Mexico City. His family was originally from Lithuania and Poland. His father was a renowned Pediatrician and his twin brother is a Reconstructive Plastic Surgeon in Mexico.
Dr. Isaac went to medical school in Mexico City and graduated with honors from the National University of Mexico in 1991. From 1991 to 1992 he worked with Dr. Cesar Decanini, one of the most prominent Colon and Rectal Surgeons in Mexico.
In 1992 he was accepted as a Post Doctoral Fellow at the University of Minnesota under the mentorship of Professor John P. Delaney M.D., Ph.D. Dr. Isaac worked in surgical clinical research for two years and was then accepted as a categorical Surgical Resident at the University of Minnesota where he completed his residency in General Surgery. Dr. Isaac was named the Resident Teacher of the Year in 1999 and completed his Colon and Rectal Surgery residency at the same institution in the year 2000.
Dr. Isaac has been in Private practice as a Colon and Rectal Surgeon for more than a decade. He has also been involved with the education of Fellows, Residents and Medical students. His education and research have made Dr. Isaac a frequent speaker nationally and internationally. He has continued to be active in surgical research at the University of Minnesota with a team that has made several significant contributions to the field.
As a result of his personal experiences, Dr. Isaac is very involved in the sponsorship of young international physicians seeking better training. He contributes to the training and support of several young international physicians, who then return to their countries to help improve health care and education in their homeland. The Felemovicius Family Foundation (FFF) was established in 2008 in loving memory of Dr. Luis Felemovicius and Dania E. Felemovicius. FFF intends to fund the traveling expenses, housing costs, and to provide stipends to young physicians who will be visiting our country to improve their education and expand their vision.
Dr. Isaac is very proud to have started and head the Colon and Rectal Surgery Division with North Clinic PA. Dr. Isaac offers complete services in Colon and Rectal Surgery, Anorectal Diseases, Colonoscopy, Laparoscopic and Minimally Invasive Surgery.
North Clinic is a multispecialty clinic offering services in Internal Medicine, Family Practice, Geriatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Colon and Rectal Surgery. North Clinic offices are located in Plymouth, Robbinsdale, Osseo, and Maple Grove; where medicine is practiced with the highest of standards.
